Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO FAITH. When we witness for Christ, we can pray for the right words to say, or that we smile sincerely, or that we’ll offer our help and be sincere — but the bottom line is whether we are steeped in faith or going through the motions. Jesus tells us to build houses on solid foundation, and that foundation is faith.
When others challenge our beliefs or ask about the joy we feel, our answers should be given with gentleness and love, but we should never mistake our role for more than what it is ... a personal testimony. Those we speak with will face the same decision point we did. It’s answering this question from Jesus: “Who do you say I am?” Faith tells us He is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
In v. 6, the writer of Hebrews says, “without faith it is impossible to please God.” That message should be the driving point of our lives and the message we share with others.
PRAYER: Our Heavenly Father, all the praise, honor, and glory go to You.
You have showered us with unspeakable love in the Person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Increase our faith, O LORD. Transform our hearts to become more like His, that our words, thoughts, and actions will honor You. In Jesus’ name. Amen
