"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
Though this chapter shows the faith of many well known believers in God's Word, it most especially demonstrates God's faithfulness to His own. We see their faith in action over and over and we also see God's marvelous faithfulness that will never end.
I have experienced His great faithfulness to me---He is also so personal--in many areas of my life, through many difficult situations. Beginning as a young, new believer in Christ Jesus as my own Savior, He greatly comforted me and guided me through tough years in my parents' crumbling marriage which was so very hard to deal with. During those years, as well as in many other seasons of life since then, He has been with me, leading me through. His Holy Spirit's indwelling presence makes all the difference. In joys and sorrows I have seen "my weakness made strong" in Him. (Hebrews 11:34)
I am so grateful to the Lord that He has so personally given me His great joy and "the peace that surpasses all understanding." (Philippians 4:7) Even just recently, my husband, John, and I saw Him clearly pave the way for us to move to this lovely area, closer to our family, in June of 2016. It was a big move for us. Our gratitude to Him for His mercy and grace is overflowing! We praise His name for it all.
Hebrews 12:1 says it all for me: "Let us lay aside every weight...and let us run the race before us." As Cornerstone Church one of those weights is our large debt. So, let's "lay that aside" and, with gratitude to our precious Lord, be ready to "run" whenever and wherever He leads us. I can testify that He will never lead us astray and is always faithful.
